Case Study: Quantium

Overview

Quantium is a global company with over 1,000 staff across multiple Australian offices and several overseas locations. Each year, it offers an opportunity for team members to update their Quantium wardrobe.

Employees can choose from a selection of apparel, picking their own styles and fit. Behind the scenes, Honeycomb collates, packs and delivers over 1500 items to teams.

The Objective

Quantium needed a clothing program that could work for a global team. Making the employee experience seamless from placing orders through to packing and delivery.

The program had four clear goals:

  • One consistent brand look across every office, anywhere in the world.
  • Real choice for staff, so they receive clothing they like and will wear.
  • Less waste, by making only what people order.
  • Simpler admin for the internal People and Culture team.

The Process

The heart of the program is an online pop-up store. For a short window, teams are invited to place their orders and designate their local office delivery point.

No apparel item is produced until it is ordered. Once the store closes, all orders are collated and a bulk order is made, ensuring that waste is minimised.

“The pop-up store solution has created a streamlined and scalable experience from product selection through to packing and international delivery.”

The Range

The program has evolved. Over time, the range has grown from a few items to a wider selection of styles, colours, seasonal options and limited-edition apparel. A unique annual t-shirt, with a design that changes each year to match the company’s theme, keeps the merch fresh and appealing to staff.

Behind the Scenes

The simple online experience hides a large and complex operation. Once the store closes, Honeycomb collates every order and places a bulk purchase. The warehouse packing team then matches each order and arranges delivery to the right person in the right country.

“From managing international logistics and country coordination through to individual order packing and production management, the Agency has provided a highly organised and reliable solution that gives us confidence the program will run smoothly every year.”

Creating a Unique Employee Experience

Part of what makes the program work for employees is the anticipation. The store opens for a limited window each year, so the annual drop becomes something teams look forward to. And because people choose what appeals to them, there is a sense of ownership. They wear the clothing far more often, not just at work but on their way to and from the office and out in everyday life. One of the annual t-shirts was even spotted being worn in Melbourne Airport.

Every team member is able to access the same range no matter which country they are in, which builds a shared sense of belonging across the whole company. At the same time, the program flexes to local needs.

“One of the biggest benefits of the program is the flexibility it provides our team members. Employees can choose styles and fits that genuinely suit them, resulting in stronger engagement and significantly greater uptake and wearability across the business.”

— Lyan Dinh, Senior Events Manager, Quantium

Built to Last

Sustainability is built into the program through the choice of supplier. The clothing is sourced from a brand known for its ‘Built to Last’ philosophy, the idea that making durable clothing that lasts longer is one of the best ways to cut waste.

Together with the program’s make-only-what-is-ordered model, these credentials mean the apparel is responsibly produced and made to be worn for a long time.

The Benefits

The program delivers clear, practical benefits for everyone involved.

  • No waste, because items are only made once they are ordered, so there is no leftover stock or guesswork on sizing.
  • Higher engagement, because people choose what they like, so they wear it more often and boost brand visibility.
  • Simple for the client, because the internal team avoids the heavy admin of running a global rollout itself.
  • Low-risk growth, because new products can be added without the risk of over-ordering or leftover stock.
  • A consistent global brand, because everyone in every country receives the same recognisable Quantium look.

The Results

The numbers tell the story:

  • In 2026 over 1,500 items were ordered.
  • Each person averaged 1.98 of the two items they are allowed.
  • Roughly 77% of the workforce participated.

Just as importantly, the make-only-what-is-ordered model means Quantium can keep adding new products and limited-edition designs each year without committing to stock in advance. The program continues to evolve based on what employees choose, which keeps it fresh and relevant over time.

“The result is a merchandise program our team genuinely values and actively wears, while also ensuring a consistent global brand presence across all office locations.”

Conclusion

The Quantium Global Apparel Program shows how a clothing program can be far more than branded merchandise. By putting employee choice at the centre and supporting it with smart logistics and sustainable products, it delivers a consistent global brand while giving each person something they genuinely want to wear.

It is easy for staff to use, easy for the client to manage, kind to the environment and ready to grow. With high participation, steady year-on-year results and room to expand the range further, the program is a strong, scalable model for connecting a global workforce through a shared brand.

“Working with the Agency has made the annual apparel program easy to manage for both our People & Culture team and our international offices.”
